Dr. Valerie

Dr. Valerie Pratt got her first cat when she was eight and from there on was hooked on being a veterinarian. She attended Michigan State University for undergrad and Veterinary School, including externships in Exotic Animal Medicine and Raptor Medicine. She has been practicing in Southeastern Michigan for over twenty five years. Areas of special interest include surgery, small mammal and avian medicine. She has earned the Low Stress Handling Silver Certification in an effort to make veterinary visits more enjoyable for the patient. At home she enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and two cats, (Minion and Merlyn) In her free time she is actively involved in scouting, enjoys backpacking and volunteers for Michigan Avian Experience helping injured Raptors.
